Our Story
Welcome to Granville, brought to you by the creators of POCIT. For the past eight years, we have been dedicated to building content that serves our community by highlighting the underrepresented stories of Black and Brown people in tech. Following this, we launched POCIT Jobs, one of the leading career platforms to help you find your next opportunity.
However, we noticed a gap: many people were struggling to reach the next level in their careers. Even those who succeeded often found the experience lonely. While there is ample support for early-stage careers, we felt there was a need for guidance and community for those who are establishing their careers or have been excelling for a long time.
This is why we created Granville—to support and connect professionals at this crucial stage of their career journey.
We chose the name Granville out of inspiration from two great figures of the past: Granville Woods, a self-taught inventor and holder of over 50 patents, and Evelyn Boyd Granville, the second African-American woman to receive a Ph.D. in mathematics from an American university and a pioneer in computing.
